Skin discolouration, brown or brown pigment spots are caused by increased production of the colour-determining skin pigment melanin. This phenomenon usually occurs between the ages of 30 and 50 and can be caused by many different causes: genetics, diseases, changes in the body, hormonal changes, exposure to cosmetics or medications, sunlight, etc.
The pigment melanin, which causes skin discolouration, perfectly absorbs the light emitted by the laser and disappears after exposure. After the laser light exposure, the pigment spots become lighter or disappear completely. During the laser treatment, the following issues can be eliminated quickly and effectively:
- Pigment spots;
- Freckles;
- keratosis;
- other skin discolouration.
The best effect is achieved by combining therapeutic laser treatments with other cosmetic or medical products and proper skincare at home. Consult the specialist that performed the treatment or the dermatologist for the most appropriate skincare and a treatment plan.
Laser treatment of pigment spots, freckles, keratosis and other skin formations is safe, effective and minimally invasive since nearby tissues are not affected during the treatment. The result is visible after the first treatment; however, in more complex cases, therapeutic treatments might be prescribed.
IMPORTANT:
- It is advisable to avoid direct sunlight for at least one week before the laser treatment. If you cannot avoid that, you must use sun cream (SPF50) and avoid using self-tanning creams.
- Do not apply active or irritating products on the skin for at least one week before the treatment.
- Inform the person performing the treatment if you are taking photosensitisers.
- It is recommended to avoid baths for 1-2 days, sauna, tanning salon and UV exposure;
- After the treatment, it is recommended to use cosmetic whitening products recommended by a doctor for daily skincare or prevention.
